Learn to Self-Publish Your Book

Jamal Anansi, CJ Charles, and Rick A. Romero will be on a panel discussing how to take your dream and turn it into a published work.

Jamal Anansi (The Dark Ones Chronicles) has been a fan of Epic Stories and quests like "The Odyssey The Iliad", Greek mythology, "Sinbad The Sailor", "The Lord of the Rings" and countless motion pictures featured on the big screen. Born in South Central Los Angeles and being brought up primarily in Watts and Compton came with many hardships and struggles, however through the advice and encouragement of mentors and friends, Jamal sought to turn those struggles, traumas, and lessons into triumphs, creating an entire universe of characters and stories to him cope with and rationalize allthe lessons he's learned in life so far.

Writing comics since 2017, he has recently been appointed as Staff Writer for Studio Skye Tiger Comics.


CJ Charles (My Mother is a Superhero) is a native of Los Angeles and a proud child of the 80s and 90s. A bilingual author, Spanish teacher, toy inventor, and educational consultant, she has been passionate about storytelling since the first grade. Her mother instilled in her a deep love of reading, inspiring the creation of her My Mother Is a Superhero ™ series, now three books strong.

CJ has been featured on Learn With Me TV on PBS Kids, LA Unscripted, GoDaddy, The Shade Room, KBLA 1580 Talk Radio, Reading is Fundamental, and in the Desert Sun newspaper. She continues to expand her creative universe with the Justine Doll, modeled after the series’ main character. She is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, and hopes readers enjoy getting to know the unforgettable characters she brings to life.


Rick A. Romero (Inkbinder’s War) is a non-binary, queer Mexican American author who writes character-driven fantasy blending magic, identity, and resilience. Their debut novel, The Essence of Love, explores grief, healing, and elemental magic in modern-day Los Angeles. With Inkbinder’s War, they turn to a darker, historical fantasy where magic shapes the hidden frontlines of World War II.
